Composer | Collaborator
Michael Pos is a Canadian-born artist based in Nashville and Gallatin, Tennessee, crafting what he describes as "Eclectic Roots Groove" music. Originally from Toronto, Pos began pursuing music seriously at 18 and has since developed a style that defies simple categorization, drawing from The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and composers like Beethoven and Bach. To ensure he understood all dimensions of realizing his music, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Composition and a Tonmeister degree in classical recording from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University.
In his early years, Pos was beginning to gain notice in the music world—performing regularly, collaborating with other rising talents, and earning recognition for his distinctive blend of rhythm and melody. Music wasn’t just a passion; it was the foundation of a promising artistic future. But life took a different turn when he fell deeply in love and turned his dedication to raising a family in a more stable environment. The stage gave way to traveling around the world while raising his family and though the music never left his soul, it took a quiet seat in the background.
Now, years later, with a renewed sense of purpose and the support of his loved ones, Pos is courageously picking up where he left off. Even at an older age, he approaches his return to music with the same fire that once launched his career—only now, it's fueled by life experience, resilience, and a deeper understanding of the stories he wants to tell.
His debut single, Move My Ship, released in 2022, marked the start of his solo catalogue and has remained a standout track, followed by the groove-infused Love to Dance in 2024. His music reflects a fusion of decades-spanning inspiration—rock legends, orchestral depth, and contemporary songwriting—anchored by rhythm, melody, and story
Currently working with other Nashville artists Pos continues to explore collaboration while crafting his latest release, Michael Pos – Direct. His artistic goal is clear - to create music that moves both the body and the mind. He aspires to one day perform on iconic stages like Massey Hall in Toronto and the Ryman Theatre in Nashville.
